On the way to Canada

On our way to Canada we went through Ohio were it had snowed. Here in Alabama We do not get very good snow so I was excited to see and play in the snow. If only I had gloves! Macky made a snowman for the kids, isn't it cute his hands were frozen afterward.

Eight year anniversary

My husband and I have now been married for eight years. This year He informed me he was going to take me somewhere for four days. Four days with out the children I might add. O.K. after I stopped stressing out out on what I have to do to get ready for this trip. I was pretty excited. Macky would not tell me where we were going, but it got let out early or at least I thought it got let out early. Monday we leave, I believe we are going to a cabin that belongs to a friend of ours that is close to some falls in Tennessee. Five hours into the driving I see a lot of license plates that say Ohio. I don't want to be annoying and ask "Are we almost there?" So I just continue along enjoying the sights of the trees with their fall colors. Then we see a big sign that says Cincinnati! That is when Macky hands me the directions that I was not allowed to look at before and read Niagara Falls Ont. Wow! Macky really surprised me! The last time I was in Canada Macky almost got me arrested for bringing too many beanie babies over the border. Lol.

Macky's birthday

Macky was so surprised to see all these people at his house. He thought we were just going to a restaurant. We had Brunswick stew and the kids made Macky a coconut cake.( well actually I messed up the kids cake I forgot to add the egg whites luckily Macky's mom was making the same cake so we pretended it was the one the kids made, I just could not break their hearts.) Having the party at the house was so much easier for all the college students who are on a budget. Amazingly most of them had never had Brunswick stew afterward they asked if they can take some home. The funniest thing was we only have two bathrooms, and one was always occupied but we could not figure out by who. Finally I knocked on the door thinking maybe the kids just locked the door with no one there. Only to find two young girls playing beauty parlor in the bathroom!

Carnival!

Madison Academy every year has what is called Southern Tradition. Upstairs is a store and a silent auction. ( That is where all my quilts went to.) Downstairs is a carnival. The whole way up those stairs the kids were singing "Carnival here we come!" It was cute.They had all kinds of games: football, basketball, pick up ducks, golf, and many more. You can either win candy or tickets. Tickets were collected to get a prize.

They also had a huge slide in the shape of Titanic. It took four tickets. Most of Kayla's tickets went to this boat. They had fun and that is what counts.

Nathan got his hair spray painted red and blue. The kids had me get mine done also. Nathan wanted me to have purple and Kayla wanted pink. I had a mixture of feelings I was the only adult who had spray painted hair but I was proud because I made my kids happy. ( there are pictures but I have been humiliated enough so just use your imagination.)

Hallelujah Party

Instead of Trick or treating our Church family host what we call an Hallelujah party. The whole thing is free except if you can be willing to donate candy. They play all kinds of games. and just play with their friends in a fun safe environment.Above is this game where you have to find stuff in all this shaving cream. Just something that they can get messy with and have fun. Below is a line of games, for example ring toss,basketball, and golf.Kayla stayed in this bouncy thing or tried too. She had to get out sometimes to allow other children to have a turn. Instead of playing a game, she would just sit in this chair nearby and wait patiently for her turn.If I could get her away she would ask, "Can I go back on the trampoline?"
We even had the scariest costume there. You can not see but the price is $14.29.
Bean bag race, this was Nathan's favorite. He especially liked betting one of our college students.

Trick or treat

Kayla was a cowgirl. She named her horse Lucky. If anyone asked her what she was going to be she would reply, " A horsee."She also tried to get her foot in those stirrups. She is so funny!

Nathan love being The Hulk. Although I refuse to buy him another costume that has a plastic mask. All he did on Halloween was whine about how uncomfortable it is. He did claim he can break through the door.

H is for Hat day

Kayla's school, Happy Times was studing the letter H. So they had a hat parade.

Kayla took a hat that she already had and painted it. She love to paint so this was so much fun for her.
